On September 21, 2019, my wife and I left the hospital without our first baby daughter.
Three days before she was pronounced dead. And two days before she was born.
It was hard (I wrote more about it here).
But leaving the hospital without anything documenting her as a person was weird. It was as if she didn’t exist. For some reason, it always struck me as odd.
Thankfully the hospital had an incredible bereavement service which took professional photos and molds of her little feet.
Recently Tennessee allowed families of stillborns to purchase a stillbirth certificate. It’s small but for some reason it helps.
And Libby’s finally arrived.
If we sadly share an experience (and you’re in TN), you can access the form here.
Also, send me an email – always open to speaking with others.
