I tell my son and daughter I love them each night before bed. I think this is important. It’s important that they know that I love them and it’s important for me to vocalize it for myself.
I know some dads choose not to say “I love you” at least to their sons. I believe they fear saying “I love you” will make their son weak. This thought process is hopefully falling to the wayside. I’ve never understood it.
Love is one of the most powerful and vulnerable emotions.
I hope my son will cherish the use of “I love you” with his children.
