How to Download Images from Google Documents

For some reason, you can not download images from a Google Document. Not sure why. It’s frustrating.

But there are a couple of workarounds. We describe them below.

Download as webpage

Download the Google Document as a Web Page.

In the Google Document, click File > Download > Web Page.

The document is converted to HTML and zipped up. Images in the document will be in their own folder labeled images.

Save image to Google Keep

Open Google Keep on the right-side panel of your Google Document. Or you can visit Google Keep.

Right-click the image in Google Keep and select “Save Image As”.

Download as Microsoft Word

Download the document as a Word Document.

In Google Document, click File > Download > Microsoft Word.

Open the document and right-click the image then select “Save Image As”.

Of course, you’ll need Microsoft Word on your computer.
