One evening while lying on my couch scrolling YouTube shorts for research, I saw an interesting video of three guys and a girl talking about an interesting alien encounter. I watched the full video and kept on my way. A couple of videos later, I saw another one but this time the group was talking about bigfoot. And like before, I watched the full short and then kept on my way.
Several days later, I sat down to do more research and again there was the same group, but they were chatting about pyramids. I watched the full video. And this time I noticed an episode number in the description so I clicked over to their channel.
Once there I noticed the shorts were repurposed from full-length podcast episodes.
Their shorts were not the typical repurposing. They were heavily edited. And looked like organic pieces of content made for shorts (because they were).
And since that day, I’ve watched/listened to their full-length episodes. I think they were in the low 700k subscribers (they will surpass 1 million soon).
Now, to their full-length podcast episodes released every Friday.
The podcast is more of a show with specific segments including:
- Unique song
- Several ads for their company
- Question corner with Lilly
I was astonished when I learned Sunday Cool was a T-shirt company. They make custom shirts and other apparel for groups including churches and companies.
And they are a Christian-based business.
I was curious about their business so I joined their email list. And their approach to email marketing is quite clever (and refreshing as well).
They use their emails to educate you on what their offerings are, the difference in inks, and why they exist.
Each email links to a blog post with an embedded video from a character the founder created, Cool Carl.
It’s a fun way to generate massive attention, share your company’s story, and eventually create a customer.
