I find the use of intuitive annoying.
As more and more of our day shifts to the internet, more of us think we are website designers. Intuitive was popularized by the technology community to explain easy-to-use.
What is intuitive? Webster defines intuitive as using or based on what one feels to be true even without conscious reasoning.
It boils down to your opinion. Do YOU find something easy to do?
What I find easy, you may find hard.
Too many times I encounter a product review or blog post stating the product/service is intuitive or not intuitive. The positive and negative reviews tend to appear side by side.
Stating intuitive in your review doesn’t help anyone. It doesn’t help the company learn what they need to fix. It also doesn’t help future customers understand how you benefited or were burned by the product.
My gripe isn’t with giving your opinion. My gripe is with falling back on a “buzzword” that doesn’t mean anything outside your head. Take the extra 5-10 minutes and explain what you like or dislike. Be specific.
If you can’t explain exactly what the issue is maybe you need go back and try harder. Even if you don’t understand something you should know why and be able to offer suggestions to improve this.
